“As blooming flowers usher in the beauties of spring and the fresh breezes of a new beginning, I want to wish all Uzbeks happiness and joy on the occasion of Navruz on behalf of the people of the United States of America and the colleagues and friends at the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent. In my hometown of Seattle, Washington, close to 500 Americans will be attending a Navruz celebration as part of the Tashkent-Seattle Sister Cities program. I know they too will be enjoying the traditional servings of sumalak and plov and that they join me in wishing all Uzbek families peace, good health and success, as we all work together to strengthen the bonds of friendship between our two countries. Navruz Mubarak!”
Russian Ambassador Vladimir Tyurdenev emphasized, in his greeting message that Navruz holds a special place among the many holidays and important dates that the Uzbek nation celebrates. It is based on traditions that have very deep roots and reflects the awakening and rebirth of nature while symbolizing good aspirations, new plans and benevolence. This holiday gives people light and fills people’s hearts with inspiration and creativity.
“On this amazing day, on behalf of the Embassy of Russia I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people of Uzbekistan! I wish you good health, kindness, wellbeing and the best of luck in your undertakings that contribute to prosperity and peace. May each and every household in Uzbekistan enjoy lasting peace and abundance!”
