A presentation of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential was held at the historic Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna.
The event was attended by representatives of Austrian government bodies, academic and public circles, international organizations, and the diplomatic corps, as well as a delegation of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Addressing the audience, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Austria Bakhtiyor Ibragimov spoke about the importance of tourism for the country’s economy, its rich cultural and historical heritage, including UNESCO-listed sites, and the transformations in the tourism sector that are enabling the government to strengthen its position in international tourism rankings.
Gertrud Tauchhammer, Tourism Brand Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Austria, emphasized the importance of such initiatives for expanding cultural and tourism ties between the two countries and expressed her support for holding them regularly.
In his speech, Ambassador of Austria to Uzbekistan Matthias Radosztics highlighted the large-scale reforms being implemented in the country, particularly in the economy, and stressed that Uzbekistan is one of the most attractive destinations for foreign tourists. He also invited the event participants to visit the country.
As part of the presentation, an exhibition of national textile and silk products was held, allowing guests to gain deeper insight into the richness of Uzbekistan’s handicraft traditions.
