The wise policy of the President of Uzbekistan contributes to a friendly atmosphere in the region

Javad Nikbin, a member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran and Chairman of the Iran – Uzbekistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, visited the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.

At a meeting with Senate Chairperson Tanzila Narbayeva, Javad Nikbin particularly emphasized that, thanks to the positive changes of recent years, the large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan, and the wise foreign policy of the President, a friendly atmosphere has been developing in the region.

The parties emphasized that, driven by the political will and efforts of the heads of state, multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran has been steadily developing in recent years and is now reaching a new level.

Special attention was given to strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation. It was noted that in recent years, regular dialogue and mutual visits of parliamentary leaders have contributed to enhancing bilateral relations.

During the meeting, the importance of expanding cooperation in the fields of security, trade and economy, investment, transport, and tourism was emphasized, along with the need to establish strict parliamentary oversight of the implementation of agreements reached between the heads of state and government.

The parties also discussed the exchange of experiences with Iran in the fields of medicine and nanotechnology, as well as opportunities to utilize Iranian ports to provide Uzbekistan with access to the sea.

The parties also considered the development of ties between the regions of Uzbekistan and Iran in cultural, humanitarian, and socio-economic spheres.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to strengthen cooperation as part of implementing promising plans and projects.
