The President of Uzbekistan and the Prime Minister of Hungary note the importance of further enhancing multifaceted cooperation

As part of the Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, on July 6, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán.

Current issues of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary were discussed.

The consistent development of strategic partnership and practical interaction between Uzbekistan and Hungary was noted with satisfaction.

Intensive contacts continue at all levels. In May, a joint Intergovernmental Commission meeting and a business forum were fruitfully held in Tashkent.

In recent years, trade turnover has almost doubled, the number of joint projects and enterprises is growing, and direct flights between Tashkent and Budapest were resumed on June 30.

Particular attention is paid to accelerating the implementation of cooperation projects in industry, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, logistics, construction and other areas.

The importance of preparing a new portfolio of investment projects and holding a joint Forum of Regions in Kokand city by the end of this year was emphasized.

Interaction in education, culture, and sports has intensified. The need for mutual cultural events to bring the two countries’ peoples closer together was noted.

Views were also exchanged on the current cooperation issues within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States and the European Union.
