Leaders of Uzbekistan and Japan hold a telephone conversation

On August 9, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida.

The President of Uzbekistan expressed concern over the powerful earthquake on Japan’s southern coast and the predicted tsunami.

The Japanese side’s decision to postpone the first “Central Asia + Japan” Summit and Prime Minister Kishida’s official visit to Uzbekistan on August 10-11 this year was received with complete understanding.

An agreement was reached to continue preparatory activities and agree on new dates for organizing the visit through diplomatic channels.
