On 9 December this year, a session of the Central Electoral Commission took place. The session looked at the results of the 4 December 2016 elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

A seminar has taken place in Bukhara on the theme of “Raising the law culture of citizens is an important factor of democratic elections”.

Territorial training seminars are being conducted in Tashkent Region on issues of raising precinct electoral commission members’ knowledge about laws and the effective work organization of these commissions.

On 8 November, the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan held its regular meeting chaired by Chairman M. Abdusalomov. The meeting saw representatives of political parties, members of OSCE / ODIHR mission, as well as mass media representatives.

On November 8, the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan held a seminar titled ‘Ensuring freedom of speech and information during the election: Uzbekistan’s experience’, organised by the Chamber’s Information and Communication Technologies Committee.

The Republican Press Center for covering the elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan played host November 5 to a national seminar organized by the Mahalla Fund together with the Central Election Commission of the country, the Ministry of Justice and interested organizations on the arrangement of promotional activities to enhance the law culture of voters in local communities in the run-up to the forthcoming presidential ballot.
